Ongoing Exhibition - Roslyn Lyons
A number of Cathy’s paintings and pastels are on display in an ongoing exhibition at the University of York, in the foyers of the Jack Lyons concert hall and the Music Research Centre. Opened in 2019, the exhibition can be visited by public during term-time when the box office (01904 322439) is open (normally 1.30-4.00pm weekdays and concert evenings). Special access can be arranged with the artist.

Commissions
Here I am working on a commission for a customer in Crete, and below is a commissioned work I completed in 2017 after suggesting options related to a selected previous work, and agreeing a draft pastel design. New commissions are welcome.

York Open Studios 2015, 2016
In 2015 and again in 2016 I took part in York Open Studios. I showed as usual at the Chapel in York Cemetery, and was pleased to meet many visitors who had come to previous exhibitions.

York Open Studios 2011, 2006
As my pictures are often large in scale and viewed most effectively from a distance, my participation in York Open Studios has been through exhibiting at external venues rather than in my own home, where my studio is low under the eaves. These have been twice at the Cemetery Chapel, in the old York Cemetery (above), and at De Clare’s café in the city centre.

Roslyn Lyons Exhibition 2011
With a specific exhibition coming up, I produce work to suit the space. For the Roslyn Lyons Gallery in the Music Research Centre at York University I made a number of large bird paintings that could be hung to suggest movement up the main tall wall towards the window/skylight at the top, whilst placing figure paintings at ground level. Reviewing the exhibition Charles Hutchinson wrote in ‘The Press’ : ‘Rarely does artistic form and presentation come together in such perfect harmony’.
